KC, you rock!! Thanks for bringing over the Group Projects!!

Michael, you are so right...more...

the early days of the swap were like we were kids let loose in the candy store. It was all new and we really got to know each other and became friends. That camaraderie was real and truly did set the tone for the swap early on. I truly believe that's one of the big reasons it became so popular. The people made it what it was and is. We've just moved into new digs.

Mimi, is it possible to make a special section for the Group Project so we can easily go

there for reference. It is an amazing collection.
Hugs J

Let me think on that. I'm a little concerned about Epi getting their nose out of joint.

On the one hand, I'm familiar with the ins and outs of copyright law as it pertains to recipes, and I've also read and re-read Epi's User Agreement. Epi doesn't own or claim copyright of any recipes posted on their website by users (they just claim the right to publish the recipes). But, a collection of recipes can be copyrighted. There is a difference between a user spontaneously posting all the recipes from the Group Project in the forum without being asked (for which FK is not responsible), and FK specifically setting up an area to host an entire collection of recipes taken from Epi (for which we are). In the case of the Faves, people are re-posting recipes they already posted and are only posting a few of them out of thousands. In the case of the Group Project it would be a whole forum in it's entirety. I tend to think it would be OK, but I'd like to proceed cautiously. Thoughts on this are welcome, especially if you are a copyright lawyer! ;o)

Or...

what about a NEW group project to properly break in the new digs? We could integrate the old group project and add the new and create an entirely new forum that incorporates our previous work so that it's not lost.

I was just musing over the deficiencies in the old one...German, Indian, Japanese...so many possibilities.

I organized and

ran the last one, but don't really have the time to do it this go round, but I will volunteer for a Bavarian/Austrian group!

Yes, but I was talking about a hard copy book of the Group Projects...

the link you posted is to all of favourite recipes from the Swap - not just the Group Projects...

good to have that link again though!

Dawn, yes, that is a very good description of it...

and some of them turned into weekend-long house parties! LOL The thing I loved about the project, is we had so many that were so knowledgable about different cuisines and they shared amazing menus and the recipes to create them. It is such an amazing resource for planning dinner parties. They're all tried and true favorites, so you can't go wrong with any of the recipes.
