Last week I had a wonderful vacation in Rockland, Maine. There is this cute olive oil shop there...

Barbara, a similar shop opened in Ann Arbor a while back...

and my sisters work in the same building so they've gifted me with its items - what a treat! I love pan sauteing chicken in the chili olive oil!

 
We were in Bar Harbor last week and flew out of Portland

There is an amazing kitchen shop in Portland called Le Roux. They also had an amazing selection of olive oils as well as almost anything else you would want for the kitchen.

 
Sounds like this kind of shop is the rage right now. Deb, I bought some of the Chiptole Olive Oil..

so I will definitely have to try it with chicken. Thanks for the suggestion!

 
We didn't make it to Portland on this trip, hopefully next time. I think there is one of these...

shops in Bar Harbor too. Hope you had a good time there! I am guessing that you flew direct since you left from Portland. If you go again you might want to try Cape Air out of Boston. They are 10 seater planes, the pilot sits right with you. And the best part is that you never go over 5000 feet so you can see the coastline the entire trip. It was a suprise to us and a great treat!
