Lost my cooking mojo

My mom has Parkinsons and was recently put on a medicine

and the changed to her memory and her 'affect' (she's more engaged) has been profound. I've asked my dad to send me the name of the drug.

That's really interesting. I'd been saying to my husband and FIL for a while

that she was clearly having problems. Mostly it's related to process (things that require doing things in steps) and schedule and making decisions. But she's also forgotten all the relatives and her address and a ton of other stuff. Really sad to see. Also refusing to bathe, change her clothing, do laundry.

I think my husband just hasn't wanted to have the fight with her to get her to the doctor, but things are a bit more stable now so perhaps he can face it better now.

(((Amanda))) You've goten some great advice here. Only thing I can think of to add is creamy soups

maybe strain them really well so they are smooth, make some veggie based ones with milk or cream to up the kcal.

I do know as one ages, the appetite seems to wane. My grandmother got to the point where she barely atet a half a sandwich for lunch - but she always had room for dessert! smileys/bigsmile.gif Of course she wouldn't eat much of that either, but she was more enthusiastic about it.

I hope your (not so little) boy is doing well!
