Made Asian tuna steaks today. Looking for some more tuna recipes. DH is not big fish eater but he

Marilyn tuna was fabulous! I served it with bruschetta with tomatoes from the garden and

crostini was made from portuguese bread. Zucchini sauteed with butter, topped with sea salt and fresh jersey corn, the best we've had this year! Hubby ate two good size pieces of tuna and 1 small. In his defense he does have a very physical job and will get on the elliptical tonight. He just couldn't get over how good the tuna was. I just have 1 piece left to make tunafish tomorrow.

Gail, I never had fresh grilled tuna steaks until I moved to Florida. It was an epiphany to me...

that tuna could taste that good. I just associated it with what I had grown up with: mushy, canned tuna (fishy oil and water-packed).

For some reason, I never thought there would be that big of a taste difference, unlike realizing that canned chicken would never taste anything like a whole roasted chicken.

I welcome your husband to our "holy leaping marlin, that's good!" club.

Speaking of mushy canned tuna, I accidentally picked up a can of water packed

chunk light tuna...OMG that stuff was awful. It was misplaced on the shelf with the solid packed tuna I normally buy and I grabbed it without looking. Went ahead and used it as I wasn't in the mood for returning it to the store. Won't be making that mistake again. Ick.

I was extremely happy when I bought canned tuna from Rollin Oats (whole foods store)

both Albacore and Tonken (?) had full pieces of fish, there was no mush whatsoever. If you want the brand name I'll have to get it for you next time I shop there

Ya'll should remember Dawn's comment: tuna is processed IN the can, so the bigger

the can, the bigger the pieces of tuna. I'm loving those big 3-pound cans. The pieces of tuna are huge and not mushy. Great for a tuna salad, although still not as good as a fresh steaks.

Sadly, it's easier to find water-packed than oil-packed.

Here's the brand I buy at Rollin Oats...It's called Crown Prince Solid White Albacore Tuna

It's imported by Crown Prince, City of Industry, CA, a product of Thailand.

They told me today some lady drives (it's a 6 hr drive at least) once a month down to buy 2 cases of it. They said they sell a lot of this tuna. It is very good, definitely not mush!
