Menu category in the T&T -- what do you think?

For my little IMHO...I agree with majority...recipes not necessary or only if anyone WANTS to post..

same with-in the menu....I love to see what others like to put together for their guests, as I said

Hi Pat.

It's not that all of us wouldn't love to see the recipes, it's just that if adding the recipes for each menu item were a requirement, we wouldn't have too many people taking the time to post their menus. But that doesn't mean that people can't do it if they're so inclined! It's a flexible solution I hope ; )

Some of my favorite cookbooks are the menu cookbooks with the recipes. They're fun.

Absolutely- if someone wants to take the time to post all recipes, they can do so

but making it flexible so that those of us who don't is a great solution. Further, if there is a menu up with no recipes and someone asks the poster to give a recipe, it can then be posted under the menu in the T&T area. That works, yes?

Okay, now what is the "rule" for menus, Mimi? Does one have to be asked to post a menu there?

...or do we just post when we have one we want to share?

Haven't read the other responses. But I enjoy reading menus of others and wishing I had been there,

but I think it would suck the creativity right out of me if I wanted to could come here...or anywhere ... and copy a menu, or in fact, get ideas for a menu. I just vicariously enjoy what others did; I don't want to redo it.

When I create a 'meal' or entertain others, a major part of the pleasure is planning and anticipating how all elements will work together, contrasting and complementing. I just don't want someone to have done it before me. Where's the challenge?

In short...I love to read of your menus and imagine how your guests enjoyed it.
