and it is great!I was a bit uncertain at first, as the butter and sugar refused to cream even when I added an extra tbsp of butter (shhh, don't tell anyone), so I just added the egg and beat till fluffy. Thank you so much for the recipe!

I lived in NJ (in Wayne) for 3 years, and cried when I had to leave - also picked raspberries there, and really miss doing that. (I do find that the Costco raspberries are really good, though.) We loved the woods near Chester, where we always found blackberries in season, and amazing plants during the rest of the year. Florida is so ugly in comparison, but I console myself with my swimming pool and being able to grill outside throughout the year.

Thank you Lana, I will have to try it, there is nothing better than NJ raspberries, I had friends

lived in Wayne, in fact there use to be a night club there called (so original) Waynes's, saw bands play there. Phoenix pales in comparison to NJ and here is something ~ since I left in 1981, I have never been back, though, I do plan to go to my 30th reunion in 2012, I have wanted to keep in my memory the NJ I knew, because I heard it changed a lot.

Thank you again for the blackberry cake I am definitely going to try it, we have a Costco a couple of miles from here

Hi Lana, glad you liked the cake! Since there's so little butter, it won't cream until

fluffy, as it would with a higher proportion of butter to sugar, but as you found out, it's not a problem.smileys/smile.gif One of the reasons I love this cake, besides the great taste and texture, is that it's fairly low in fat. Enjoy!
