Thanks so much, MariaDNoCA & GayR 4 yr copycat Mrs Field's RECS! Maria, sounds like U are having
the same run of bad luck that we are==>
While biking w/ my DH on June 3, I happened to mention that we should think about extending our distance as I waved my left hand in the air. I was on Paul's left--he thought the hand gesture meant I was going to pedal straight, but I proceeded to turn right at exactly the same street where we always turn right, and I broadsided him! We both went down--I got off with scrapes & bruises & a banged right elbow, but Paul ended up with a broken pelvis. smileys/frown.gif
We, too, had a trip to the local ER that night, and they kept Paul overnight and through the next day. Luckily, he needs no surgery. Orthopedic doctor told us Paul's type fracture will heal just fine on its own with 100% mobility 5 months out, but the tough part is he has to keep all weight off his right foot for a minimum of 4 weeks. After a month, he'll start physical therapy. I feel awful, but he keeps reminding me it was just an accident. A funny--when the nurse checked him in, she asked Paul if he felt safe at home, and he slowly drawled, "Well, I used to." RN & I both cracked up.
So, I have good knowledge of what you are dealing with and experiencing. Paul is moving around just a bit on a walker, using his hands while hopping on his left foot. Even that little bit of movement causes pain so he is pretty much sticking to sitting in his recliner chair during the days.
As Roseanne Roseanna Danna used to say on Saturday Night Live (played by Gilda Radner), "It is ALWAYS something!"
Wish you lived closer, Maria, as I'd move you right into our converted family room rehab center! And you, too, AngAk1 for the tail end of your wrist recovery. May the 2 of you both be well soon....Wigs
