Meryl--in some post somewhere(!), U referred 2 a knockoff Mrs. Field's CCC REC U like, but I can't

My gosh, it hurt just to read, I cannot imagine what it was like ....

...going through all that!

I hope you won't need surgery, and I hope you will heal fast and smoothly

a virtual hug going your way....

OMG, that is awful...a good friend of mine just broke her ankle

after surgery, she is a few weeks into it. They gave her a walking boot after two weeks, but you have to go slow. If you have surgery, and they put in plate and pins, healing goes much faster. She was a walker and in good shape and seems to be healing fast. she got a knee walker, a handy gadget sort of like a walker, but you put the knee with the broken ankle on it, it supports your lower leg and you use it like a scooter. she really trucks along with it. Take care of yourself and do all the therapy after.

Thanks for the info about surgery...I was fearing the possibility

Now it doesn't sound that bad. Healing quicker is something I'm all for.

Thanks so much, MariaDNoCA & GayR 4 yr copycat Mrs Field's RECS! Maria, sounds like U are having

the same run of bad luck that we are==>

While biking w/ my DH on June 3, I happened to mention that we should think about extending our distance as I waved my left hand in the air. I was on Paul's left--he thought the hand gesture meant I was going to pedal straight, but I proceeded to turn right at exactly the same street where we always turn right, and I broadsided him! We both went down--I got off with scrapes & bruises & a banged right elbow, but Paul ended up with a broken pelvis. smileys/frown.gif

We, too, had a trip to the local ER that night, and they kept Paul overnight and through the next day. Luckily, he needs no surgery. Orthopedic doctor told us Paul's type fracture will heal just fine on its own with 100% mobility 5 months out, but the tough part is he has to keep all weight off his right foot for a minimum of 4 weeks. After a month, he'll start physical therapy. I feel awful, but he keeps reminding me it was just an accident. A funny--when the nurse checked him in, she asked Paul if he felt safe at home, and he slowly drawled, "Well, I used to." RN & I both cracked up.

So, I have good knowledge of what you are dealing with and experiencing. Paul is moving around just a bit on a walker, using his hands while hopping on his left foot. Even that little bit of movement causes pain so he is pretty much sticking to sitting in his recliner chair during the days.

As Roseanne Roseanna Danna used to say on Saturday Night Live (played by Gilda Radner), "It is ALWAYS something!"

Wish you lived closer, Maria, as I'd move you right into our converted family room rehab center! And you, too, AngAk1 for the tail end of your wrist recovery. May the 2 of you both be well soon....Wigs

Oh my goodness Maria! As Barbara said, it actually hurts just

to read this. I hope you heal quickly and just lay low for a while.

((((Thanks for all your well wishes!!!)))) Update...

They've delayed deciding if I need surgery to next week, but right now all signs say no.

my goodness! couldn't they make them match? can't help but think of a crash dummy

does it hurt when you laugh?

I see a Star Wars StormTrooper!

"No, no, I'm sorry, sir, I'll continue to look around. Alpha 956, out."

(mumbling to self:) "Stupid know-it-all officer. How about you get into this armor and try to see out of this damn helmet, then I'll sit around in my comfy office and tell you how dumb and incompetent you are!"

¯Stormtrooper Alpha-956, grumbling
