Is tandoori chicken cooked on the grill. I have tried home made spice paste, Penzey's, etc., but nothing beats the flavor of Patek's tandoori paste. Simply skin thighs or legs, cut a few slashes in the meat, mix the paste with plain yogurt and marinate overnight. Cook on the grill, preferable over charcoal. Absolutely delicious.

Have always been very happy with Penzeys Tandoori blend, might give this a try though? thanks.

My simplest meal is Patak's Biryani, yogurt, uncooked chicken breast & basmati rice, baked, raw,

altogether for about 35 minutes.

Could not possibly be easier. Their Biryani is difficult to find now, if in fact, not out of production, but you can use the veg Biryani or just their curry paste and mix it with the yogurt and rice.

And we always eat it with fried Patak's pappadums.

The 1 thing I like about this city is its cosmopolitanism and great attentinon, now, to carrying the

foods of these huge ethnic groups that live here.

EXCEPT Mexican !!!

We are addicted to Patak's Biryani paste

For years we missed eating Biryani, and I didn't like the whole seed mixes (the seeds stick in my teeth), so I was so thrilled to find this. I cook it with beef or lamb (sometimes chicken, but I grew up eating the other meats in biryani), onions tomatoes and lots of lentils in the rice. So good! Marilyn , there are a couple of stores here that stock it - do you want a jar to try?

I love Tandoori Chicken. I, too, marinate overnight in a good Greek yogurt

then use all the individual spices to make up the mix. I had never grilled chicken with the yogurt still on it. Wonderful flavor.

I usually buy it at House of Spices

on SR 434 in Longwood, but that's out of your way. They sometimes have it at Fresh Market, but again I don't think there's one on your route. It's also at the International Food Club (evil, evil place) at 4300 L B McLeod Road, Orlando, FL 32811 (321) 281-4300

I think many Indian stores will carry it - I keep on stumbling across it, and I always buy a jar as I feel insecure if there isn't a jar in the cupboard. It's either very popular or they don't make much of it, as often it's out of stock.
