my friends in humid places: I noticed in FL that they use many salt grinders. I'm thinking because

Ha! My funny story is that the lil black specks as a garnish make dh think that mickey mouse

entered the kitchen. (Not that that has ever, ever occurred!) but dh can't seem to use the black lava one as a garnish.

my ds, on the other hand, not knowing dad's thoughts, just loves to contribute to the seasoning of food. He likes that it does not lose its color, compared to coarse salts, so he can see it.

We use it frequently. Deviled eggs, green beans, etc. So pretty, and such a great taste.

Just don't serve it to my dh.... He will set up a mouse trap! : )

hahaha! and treasure these sweet days with your son and his joy in his school lunch

that is just precious

When I lived on the boat we used to put a 1/2 tsp of long grain white rice inside

the salt shaker. It soaks up the ambient moisture and keeps the salt flowing easily. But when the salt started to get sticky, it was time for new rice!

I bought DH the salt grinder(his widh for birthday). I won't worry about anything big or fancy. we

have plenty of pepper grinders to bring down and I used my bed bath and beyond coupon for this smaller grinder. it'll make him happy.
