My Memorial Day 6

Do you like Photoshop Elements?

After reading many reviews online, I decided to go for Photoshop Elements version 5

they say that it is one of the best options for the money -

I've never had the patience to learn Photoshop, and found that I used just a few of its features. Photoshop Elements are a streamlined version of the huge software, and much more user-friendly.

I wonder how that compares to Lightroom... Do you know?

I haven't used Elements and I'm attempting...after a year...to learn Photoshop. I did have Lightroom

for a while...friend loaned me his computer and it was great. Photographers use Lightroom to manage workflow and I found the editing functions on there sufficient for my purposes. I guess my hope is that eventually I'll need the other features of Lightroom. smileys/smile.gif

I did a price comparison and to begin with, I'd start off with Elements. Amazon has it for $80. Lightroom is more expensive than I thought. I had $100 on the brain, it's actually $250.

Yeah, I noticed the price tag of Lightroom....

.... however, I probably would be able to get the academic discount. We do use Photoshop a lot in the lab and it could be nice to have a different software, some of the students HATE Photoshop (and I don't like it myself, those layers drive me nuts!)

I am ok with PHotoshop Elements, even if I tell myself I'll study it better "when I have some free time" (yeah, right...)

I've been finding lots of interesting podcasts and training videos online. Maybe that would help.
