My Saturday Six

My Sunday Six

1. I can't even remember Friday. Sad.

2. Made the Clementine Cake for coffee hour at church today. It was scarfed up--not a crumb left. Very easy to make, too.

3. Made the Blender Cheesecake. I think next time I would just mix it all in a bowl or food processor. Took forever in the blender. But it came out really well. Love cheesecake.

4. Made the Chipotle and Maple Pork Tenderloin for dinner on Saturday. Served it with Calabacitas (squash, onions, and green chile--can provide recipe if anyone wants it) and grilled corn. The pork was fabulous. A definite keeper. I might tweak the sauce a little.

5. Made plans to see Julie and Julia. Can't wait! (Also saw the new Star Trek movie last night which was awesome!)

6. Greek Salad for dinner tonight; watermelon for dessert.

Weekend (nearly) Six >>>>

1 Friday night went to the weekly free town concert series. Listened to Solsa..Latin Pop???
2 Sandy made tomato tart-on puff pastry-very good. Sis brought deli sands (a Plan "B" since her engine overheated and she had to be towed in weekend bumper2bumper traffic, a 1 hour trip turned into 4.5 hours) I made white nectarine shortcake (also a "Plan B" since the strawberry stand closed for the season)
3 Indian food out last night
4 On our way to Mexico today so busy with packing etc.
5 Picked all ripe tomatoes and am roasting them off to pop in freezer. Stands to reason they all should come ripe just as we are leaving for 2 weeks.
6 Taking rest of small yellow pear tomatoes to Dad's who is cat-sitting for us

Am I the only one that's OCD enough to notice that

the cans are arranged alphabetically? Can you say... M-O-N-K? lol Did you do that on purpose?

Oh no, I had to arrange them like that. OCD, ADD, and a whole host of other

D's I am sure. One of my pet peeves are things out of alphabetical order. I am so happy you noticed. And they are an odd number. One of my other things. I will go to bed tonight feeling a bit more normal than usual. But of course your name is Dawn, Go figure. smileys/smile.gif

both good ideas, but I like LOTS of sugar on Cheerios, and TONS of butter on english muffins smileys/smile.gif

My current favorite cereal is Kashi Go Lean -- 10g of fiber in a serving. I also like

one called Hi-Lo from Nutritious Living -- can no longer find it in L.A., though, none of the stores they list at their website carry the Hi-Lo cereal (I have yet to check on the last one - Gelsons) and the company won't return my email request.

I noticed it was a set of odd numbers too! I figured you did that so they would

be easier to center! I do that... we aren't OCD, just neat. ;o)

You know, I have a theory on that. If someone has ADD/ADHD, they are always jumping from one thing to another right? So they try reeeeeally hard to concentrate on something, and so OCM (hyper-focusing?) results. So it's just a way to focus your thoughts. Same with perfectionism... seems reasonable to me!

whoa!! did not notice the arrangement at first, but your theory makes perfect sense to me??

Hmm, never heard of Hi-Lo but will keep an eye out for it. The thing

about Cheerios is that there is a lot of soluble fiber in there too, which is what lowers cholesterol my doctor told me once. My mother eats Honey-Roasted Cheerios everyday and her cholesterol is something like 134 (total!) - only anecdotal, but just saying.)

I only tried Kashi once (it was too sweet for me) so not sure if that one has lots of both kinds of fiber(?).

P.S. Oops, just looked at the label of Cheerios - HN only has .75g of insoluble fiber and regular has only 1 g (same as Kashi Go Lean). Hmm, must have good PR people then!

My weekend six...

1. lobster
2. crab
3. shrimp
4. crab stuffed shrimp
5. crab stuffed lobster
6. lobster

We're down the shore and all is lobster, lobster, lobster!! grilled, steamed, stuffed - I might even make thermidor over fettucine tonight, if the Mr will crack the shells of for me...

Hi AManda - please share your Calabacitas recipe when you get a chance.

I'm going to see J & J next Monday - I can't wait!
