My Saturday Six

Can I come over and snowblow your driveway?!!

We're dying to try it out. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Crab bisque with fresh bread sounds delicious!

Yes, please! We don't have a snowblower.

Bubba says, it's just fine, just drive through the snow, it will be okay...lol. So I do, and it is. Compared to my driving skills from when I first moved here, mine are now vastly improved. It wouldn't be bad except we live off of a county road with steep hills and gullies on the sides. Acckkkkkkkk!

I have had something like this on gorgonzola which was also very good.

I am not a big goat cheese fan, what else could I use?

what are you sewing? My sis has me shopping all the second-hand stores for wool sweaters to shrink.

She's practicing with potholders before moving on to dolls and toys then patch blankets.

I have been making a lot of ornaments for friends and family.

Also some needleholders and pincushions. I found these adorable patterns for pincushions that use recycled bottle caps for the base. I use wool felt and some acrylic felt too. I have also made some penny rugs and wall hangings. I discovered it about 10 years ago through my quilting group and have never looked back at traditional piecing. I love that most of my projects can be taken with me anywhere I go. And then there is felt food. Do a google and then look at the images...amazing and addictive. I just find it so relaxing and good physical therapy too.
Here are some links:

I adapted this pattern into an ornament for my sister: http://weefolkart.com/content/cat-doorstop
If you look at their free appliques and patterns, there are a lot of cute ideas to adapt to your own.

I thought these take out boxes would be cute for the kids with felt fortune cookies inside, but they will have to wait for next year. I will get an earlier start. http://lbbspassion.blogspot.com/

I have made the mushroom but haven't embroidered it yet. http://thelittlehousebythesea.wordpress.com/2008/11/03/toadstool-cottage-and-mushroom-house-%E2%80%93-free-pattern-and-tutorial/

And finally, I just love Mimi Kirchiner's babies, tatooed men and women, and small worlds. They are just adorable. You have to look around on her website under finished projects, but I end up spending way too much time looking.

How cute! I saw MS make a teacup (pin cushion) that looked just like a cup of cocoa

or was it a cupcake... if I find it, I'll post it. It was also made out of felt wool.

I will tell you that I don't measue and use 6 cheeses

1/2 cup Parm
1/2 cup pecorino
1/2 cup good sharp cheddar
and I put all fo that in the sauce. Then I put more parm and percorino in the crumbs.

Also - the crumbs at our favorite restaurant are so good I can just eat them so I finally perfected them and DD said that they REALLY made this batch even better. Take a loaf of the baguette bread from Costco and tear the soft inside into medium small pieces (use a fork or spoon to help peel as much of it from the crust as possible). Toss it with about 3/4 stick of butter melted. Toast on low heat in the oven but don't get too brown so that you can still cook them on top of casseroles. Cool and store in the fridge or freezer. He uses these crumbs to stuff trout, on top of pasta. THey are just increadible. Season with any herbs and cheeses you want. Save thr crust and process them in the food processor and process until faily fine. You can use the crusts but it's a little hard.

Me too! I just love how creative people are. I find that the top off of a

large liquor bottle works very well. They are changing the packaging on soda bottles so that they are not as thick as they used to be. Even our 2 liter bottles have been changing. Also the caps off of bottled salad dressings would work.

I make this all the time. Prefer a mix of oil & brine cured olives with a bit of orange zest.

I often make extra and smear the tapanade & goat cheese on a piece of lavash (flat bread at Trader Joe's) and bake in a 350 degree oven. Wonderful quick snack.
