Need to vent. Have 8 coming for dinner today. On the way home last night

Got a "Oh, yeah, it's your birthday- I forgot" But he cleaned the house the day before

did the yard, set up the deck, and got the groceries (even tho he did get kale instead of chard!)
He's easy to forgive!

My wife jokes with me each year. "So. What kinda cake are you baking for your birthday?"

My whole family forgot Mother's Day one year. I was 16 or 17 and totally...

...self-absorbed.

My Mom got in the car and left. She didn't come home for many hours, and despite our apologies and lame attempts to "make it right", she didn't hardly talk to any of us for days.

I don't really think she ever forgave us. Nor did we deserve forgiveness.
