NFR for my opera-loving friends, a series of 7 world-class operas will be broadcast on local movie..

dianncy... is this your gr-grandmother?

Maria DiPaolo
Nicola Modesta (Husband)
Child:

1. Angelina Elizabeth Modesta b. 30 Jun 1914 in Philadelphia, PA

There were 4 surviving sons (1 died at 3) She married into the Otranto name possibly her husband

was named Albert if I remember right. Albert, Louis, Joseph, and John (the deceased child's name was John and the second John was named after him)

Maria DiPaolo is my mother's father's mother
My grandfather's name was Louis Otranto married to Isabelle H. Schaffer (my mother's mother)

I was told she traveled through Europe and was quite popular in her day at the turn of the 20th Century.

If there was a daughter she would have had to have been deceased but we were never told of that, Just her son John (the first one)

Thank you cheezz, it has been driving me crazy for over 30 years trying to find anything about her. I do believe what I've been told, we had neighbors named Russo and they use to talk about my great grandmother and were tickled they lived across the street from her daughter in law, my grandmother.
