Isn't the heat in the northeast oppressive?! Following weeks of rain, it sure is humid.

I know the west has had it bad too, and I really sympathize with you. Take-out Chinese food tonight!

 
Ugh. You'll never hear me complain about the cold! 83 degrees and 85 per cent humidity at 3 a.m.!

 
I had a similiar moment yesterday; was at Panera had their green iced tea. It was really delishious~

We have air conditioning in San Francisco - it's called FOG.

also none of our windows have screens, it's a city thing. When we do get a hot spell we all just die - except those in modern highrises downtown, they have AC

 
Maybe it's not very buggy there? (and many older buildings) Finally got AC here

Though for years we didn't really need it because of the fog as well. Gotta love our micro-climates. Right now it's 65F where Heather is in SF (depending on what side of the city though) and 82F here about 45 miles south.

At the moment we aren't in a heat wave...I feel for all the rest of you though!

If it weren't for the occasional flies, we wouldn't really need screens. Some of the older homes around don't have them. However, getting ac installed, given the changes in climate, was some of the best money I ever spent.

 
Yesterday we were staring out the window from our office downtown, transfixed, because some bug

hatch happened, it looked like it was snowing out, tons of bugs swirling around 20 stories from the street, eeeek! They were gone today. We have a major fruit fly problem too, lots of traps on city trees and even in my fruit-free apartment I have a few. hate them.

 
Boo! I forgot about the fruit flies...

heard they are spraying again in some places here too.

Lately I've had some wasp issues too. Wanna keep those guys out.

 
Eww wasps are nasty! Yeah, they're spraying in San Jose again for fruit flies, I was out past

curfew as a kid and got sprayed twice by Malathion. uck. It ruined the paint on 2 of our cars, perhaps that's why I have immunity issues...
