NFRC Ahh, sitting in an air-conditioned Dunkin' Donuts drinking a COLD iced coffee...

I always understood the reasoning to be that the hot drinks make you perspire

and the evaporation of the perspiration cools you down. In high humidity, the perspiration doesn't evaporate, though, so I don't see that working.

Again: Meryl, don't hate me too much because today it is. . .

Hotter, not so breezy and quite smoky and hazy from the fire up to the east of us. . . (hack, hack)

Not buggy in New York? I wish.

We haven't opened our windows since it turned warm enough for mosquitoes. That's three months, so far. Fortunately, we have the 1992 Cadillac (I hope) of air conditioners in one of the windows, and that's enough to cool the place.

Still, I want a bronze plaque on our local ConEdison branch recognizing our summer contributions.

Only 1 room. And that's not too efficient smileys/frown.gif Usually feels like breathing through a wet

towel with this humidity. Slightly better with the a/c on.

The bugs here this year are terrible too. I heard once that mosquitos don't fly above the

3rd floor. Strange, but I think that's true.

We have mosquitos, fruit flies, and FLEAS. It's gross. Getting a fogger tonight and then we all have to leave the house for a couple of hours. That's ok. I can't stand bugs on me!

I've never been in a "dry" heat, but the mugginess is what most

f the people around here complain about. You just can't get comfortable. We've had record rainfall here too, which only adds to it.

I know - they made a nest in the door jam of DDH's car

because I wasn't driving it. Had to de-wasp it before I got rid of it.

Too many wasps!
