NFRC: May I brag a little? I've been out of touch here because I've been swamped with this event.

Thanks, (sniff) I'm a bigger sap than you, Barbara.

People are amazingly kind when given the opportunity, and when thanked. This event was all about thanking the donors. Food and wine don't hurt, either.

There are as many authentic recipes for it as there are for bouillabaisse, and all claim to be

the one and only original.

Julia's is the only one I know that includes basil--such a nice touch with the veggies. Others include saffron, and some are so hot they burn your mouth.

Richard Olney's includes monkfish liver, and it's a deal-breaker. Good luck.

AAAAHHHHH!!!! Just when I get my medications adjusted again you have to mention GOATS!!!!

No this is a tiny garden in a busy urban area. The goat incident was in another much larger garden, but also in an urban area, which made the @#$%@ goats totally illegal.

The final expulsion of the goat people went out last night--not because of the goats per se but because they destroyed our corporate website in retaliation. They're simply crazy, but they're locally popular and this will probably hit the local papers. I will have to practice restraint. Don't tell anyone I said they were insane, please.

All I wanted was more gardens in Long Beach.

The director before me wrote a teleplay called "Mad Gardens" which made it to the pilot stage. I may just have to write a screenplay to top her....

Titles, anyone?

Oh how fab -- I was just in LB near there...would've loved to see it

Congrats!!!!!!!

I was in LB for Mom's birthday on the 6th. Would've loved to come see, maybe next time.
