NFRC: Righteous Brothers song, Unchained Melody (trivia)

Gayle, my DH and I were.....

about that age when we met and that was "our " song. I used to sit on the floor with my head to the speaker of the 'gram, listening to the 45 record playing over and over. When he was away in the navy it kept me going. Oh, that tender age!
We still love the song some 40 years later! (but I just can't imagine when I'd have had time to sit and swoon over a record, not from when children came along)

Yes, the do/did...but I was always at a loss why they had that.....

name. One hilarious eveing friends all worked it out that it was a belt bag meant for women only...I only found out the double meaning when I was a teacher at an American school some years later!
Oh, I could give you lots of this type of example when we all meet up one day.

Joanietoo.....wish you could have been there with us.....I wondered how many

other oldsters were there with stars in their eyes from their younger days! It was just so special and you know what? He still sang it wonderfully! His son came down from the band to sing Bobby Hatfield's high notes. (Bobby died 2 years ago)

I'll happily get you an autograph if you'd like. I've got 2 more tickets and will be going back next week. (my daughter got 4 free tickets and just happened to ask me if I had ever heard of Bill Medley the day we were leaving for Branson!) Can't pass up another show but I'd happily share if anyone else lives near and would want to go. ?????

It is a wonderful song....

Randi, so happy to provide you with a little diversion to your migraine......

That is a hoot about the station playing it!!!!!

Sweet Gayle.....

It would be great to go...too far for me to think of it.
We still had a record player and also 2 young children who thought they were the most worldly folk ever...it was about the time that tape-decks were coming out and we had one of those too...when oldest came home from school in an "I know it all" mood with a tape from a friend..."Mum, Mum, you must come and listen to these songs..this is the newest band and they are great, listen, listen"...OH, Dear she was soo taken aback when I started singing along..."Hey, Mr. Postman,...deliver de letter...desooner, debetter"...and "Hey, Jude" etc......She actually said, "Huh"! in the way only a teen can, "you think you are so clever" and then curiosity got the better of her and she asked me what other music we had in the "olden" days.
When we laugh about it now she says she just never really listned to the music we played, she just remembers the stuff like "the wheels of the bus go round and round"?????

well.... you want to be me, in an English Pub, meeting new people and saying....

hi, I'm Randi "-)))

Richard, according to my dictionary...

definition of diction; 1. Selection and usage of words in writing or speaking.

... as you have demonstrated so aptly in posting the pudding recipe.
