Okay, trying desperately to stay on WW. Ask to bring dessert to Italian dinner. Is there

Thanks barb...my last attempt with meringue shells got clammy here in the humidity.

Thanks for researching it though. I'm going with a purchased tart shell and bringing fruit fillings. Going to try making a blood orange/grapefruit granita now. Wish me luck!

Thanks charlie, but I'm weak around anything with cream, even the fake stuff. I'm

going with fruit, a purchased tart base and a blood orange/grapefruit granita.

Here's what I went with: raspberries in a sweet tart base, a smear of lemon curd, covered

that with thin mango slices, apricot glaze and some almonds.

I mixed up the blood oranges (wow! were they bitter! So surprised at that...) and the grapefruit for the granita, opened the freezer and just stood there. There was NO SPACE. Absolutely NONE. Facing me were 4 new packages of coffee bean, two boxes of organic steaks, 2 boxes of veggie sausage, 2 boxes of veggie burgers, and 2 boxes of wheat-free waffles.

My husband had gone shopping.

The mixture went into the refrigerator instead and we took just the tart to dinner. It was enjoyed by all and I managed to eat only a small piece.

I made smoothies with the non-granita on Sunday. That was tasty!

Thanks again for all of your help and suggestions.

Lar likes Boca; I don't. He's on a "what protein are we having" kick, so I'm

not sure taste is the primary consideration....just that he's getting enough protein. I don't like the fake "grilled" taste they use.

I think CI made a version that got good reviews. Let me check around.
