Pillsbury million dollar winner...Just read that the winner was chicken stuffed with

Aaaccckkkk! I loved how you worded your post...when I opened it, I just cracked up!

Thanks for a good laugh while I'm at work...that truly sounds disgusting!

I read "waffle sticks" were used in the recipe- didn't suit my taste but didn't sound too horrible

This recipe is just wacky enough to inspire me to make it.

Of course I am a complete vegetarian so I get off easy. I will make this for my fiance but not tell him of the odd ingredients to see if he enjoys it. I will let you know how it turns out and what his comments are. I love having a guinea pig! hee hee

Another winner had a clever idea - making waffle bread for sandwiches by cooking biscuit dough in

the waffle maker. Would be interesting to try with homemade bisuit dough.

And the insane part is that this won in the SAVORY category. I have many of the books from the ....

first few contests. They had wonderful recipes some of which were later picked up by food companies and made into mixes i.e. the chocolate tunnel cake. Now they START with mixes! Sad!

Pillsbury Winner: Take on Chicken and Waffles?

A group of women at lunch were discussing food and I mentioned the winning Pillsbury recipe and I got the same "yuck" as some people posted. When I initially read the recipe I thought it might be a take on chicken and waffles and maybe that was the inspiration for the dish. Has anyone tried it?

I've had Chicken & Waffles at the famous Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. . .

tasted pretty much like fried chicken with waffles and syrup. Good, if you like that sort of thing but personally I missed "the magic."

Is it the waffles or the maple syrup that is the turn-off? Or both?

We used to have creamed chicken over waffles - mmmm.

And maple-glazed salmon or maple syrup paired with pork is heavenly.
