I just bought some corn meal (Quaker, I think), and the stuff had absolutely NO flavor in the cornbread.

Source recommendations for good cornmeal? That, like, tastes like corn?

TIA! smileys/smile.gif

Shop at an ethnic market and buy their cornmeal. there are the stone ground varieties

from mills. Maybe House of Autry would be a possibility.
Fold some creamed corn into your cornbread.

For years I have used Albers Yellow Corn Meal. I make two big batches every late fall

to have in freezer for chili dishes, some soups, etc. Very good and always reliable in flavor.

This is as good as it gets: Weisenberger Mills

This is a local treasure. The Weisenbergers immigrated from Baden (now Germany) in 1862 and the Weisenberger Mills opened in 1865 with water powered turbines providing the power to stone grind the grains.

It's been that way ever since by 6 generations of Weisenbergers.

The best grits and cornmeal you'll ever buy anywhere. All local Kentucky organic grains. They also sell lots of baking mixes that are very popular.

This is the only cornmeal and grits we use at our house.

And those grits with cheddar, bacon, and garlic? TDF.

Yes, Albers is what I have used previously BUT the store where I happened to buy had. . .

discontinued Albers and got this other stuff instead! I shoulda searched out Albers.
