Question about Veggie Washes

Do any of these really wash away the pesticides? I assume none will get rid of all the pesticides, especially those inbedded in the wax covering of fruits, but do any of them get ride of SOME of the pesticides, as opposed to plain water? I used to use Veggie Wash, but kept wondering if I was just wasting my money. And of course, there's no proof one way or the other, since pesicides are basically colorless, odorless, etc. I try to buy some organic produce, but much of it is either too expensive or not easily available. Any good suggestions out there?

Meryl, here's a fairly recent article by the University of Colorado

The article says: "In most cases the produce washes have been found to be "equally effective or "slightly better" than tap or distilled water in removing microbes and pesticide resides."

I just use regular water, though.

Meryl, there is the Samson Washer that uses ultrasonic technology to remove pesticides and bacteria

from produce. I don't have any experience with this product, I'm just familiar with it since I added it to the FinerKitchens store recently.
