Question for anyone who has made bread with a overnight rise in the fridge...

In Florida, unsalted 4 pack is $6.29 as of three weeks ago. Each lb. pkg is divided into 4 sticks.

I've never seen it in a 1 lb package that isn't divided. Seems odd they have it both ways.

Wow! That's expensive. I pay $5.79 for 1 lb Organic Valley Organic Unsalted Butter and

it's a top quality butter with an 84% butter fat. Most U.S. butters contain 80% - don't know what the Costco percentage is. I use Organic Valley most of the time, but I've also used Land 'O Lakes 80 % a few times ($4.19 a lb), and have had good results.

BUTTER BRANDS - FAT PERCENTAGES

By law, US butter must contain at least 80 percent butterfat.

BRAND - BUTTERFAT
Breakstone's Butter - 80%
Cabot Butter - 80%
Horizon Organic Butter - 80%
Kate's Homemade Butter - 80%
Keller's (known as Hotel Bar in New York) - 80%
Kerrygold Irish Butter - 80%
Land O Lakes Butter - 80%.
Keller's Plugra - 82%
Keller's European Style Butter - 82%
Lurpak Danish Butter - 82%
Land O Lakes Ultra Creamy Butter - 83%
Beurre d'Echire (France) - 84%
Organic Valley Butter - 84%
Egg Farm Dairy Butter - 84-86%
Straus Family Creamery Butter - 85-86%
Vermont Cultured Butter - 86%
Animal Farm Butter (VT) - 87%

I've never seen unsalted butter at Costco. Ours used to carry organic, but they

haven't had it the past few times I was there. Ours carries lb. packages in quarters and whole lb. sticks.

Unless I go to Trader Joe's I can't get organic butter for less than $8 per lb.

I guess I shouldn't have said "get" the butter, as I don't buy it at that price!

Another reason I love TJs!

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. That's 6.29 for 4 lbs of butter...4 pkgs of l lb boxes. Each lb is

divided into 4 sticks. The store in Tampa has both salted and unsalted butter available packaged like that.
