I've gotten them at San Pedro Fish Market-; the one in Ports o' Call (years ago, is it
still there?) and the Saturday morning market at 22nd Street. There's a local Fish Market, Jimmy's in Long Beach, that will save bones and heads for me if I ask ahead of time. They're free if you make a purchase but their fish is so expensive I'm not sure it's such a bargain.
