...scroll down to "Restore Scroll Position v0.5.9.10". Click on that link. Firefix will probably block the link with a bar at the very top of that page that says "Firefox prevented this site (gozer.org) from asking you to install software on your computer". (Gozer.org seems safe, a lot of people are recommending their popup blocker add-on) Next to this, there is a button to "Allow". Click that. A little box will appear showing that you're downloading the add-on, and when it's done, it will tell you that you have to restart Firefox in order for it to work. Shut down FF and reopen it. Come back here and try it out, let us know how it works for you.
If you ever need to shut off the plugin or remove it, click on Tools > Add-ons > Restore Scroll Position and either the "disable" or "uninstall" button.
I don't see any great risk in trying this and it's working great for me, but, of course, use at your own risk, I'm not responsible for your computer imploding, etc etc.
Welllll, I did all that (before I saw your post) and nothing changed. Oh well, that's okay,
it's the only site I experience the problem and I'm used to navigating here now so I guess I'll just leave it alone. Thanks for your help though, Mimi.
OMG, it WORKED!!! Given Shaun's success I decided to
try again. Realized I was running an older version of Firefox so I upgraded to the latest version then followed your steps to add the fix. It works great.
