RECIPE: REC: Green Chile Stew. We love this and I can't wait until Hatch green chiles...

Finished making it this morning - 3 trips to the store for chiles smileys/smile.gif

This is an expensive ($1.49 lb for chiles) and time consuming stew to make! Hubby liked it better than I thought he would as he doesn't like tomatillos as much as I do. We both liked it but because of the cost/prep, I wouldn't make it more than once a year. Now I have this HUGE pot of stew...will try freezing some.

 
It freezes well. We get chiles a lot cheaper than that. I go to mexican markets...

...and get great deals on produce, both ethnic and standard stuff.

Once you've charred and skinned your first few hundred chiles, it gets easier and less time consuming.

Glad you made it. It gets better a day or so later.
