Sesame Tofu

1 package 14 oz. extra firm tofu

3 tablespoons sesame seeds

2 tablespoons good quality soy sauce

Slice the tofu into 3 layers and place each layer flat on a towel.

Fold towel over top of layers and place a weight on top to squeeze out water. Let sit for about 15 minutes.

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees and spray baking sheet with oil.

Cut each tofu layer into quarters and then into triangles. There will be 24 triangles.

Place soy sauce in small bowl and sesame seeds in seperate small bowl. Dip each triangle in the soy sauce and then press one side into the sesame seeds. Place triangle, with sesame side up, onto the baking sheet.

Bake for about 10 minutes and then turn triangles over and bake another 10 minutes until golden.

These are delicious right out of the oven, or at room temp. Store in fridge. These can be dressed up with dipping sauces, or used in salads or wraps, or added to your stir-fry.

I thought of combining these very simple ingredients with the tofu because my family likes both tofu and sesame. It has become a staple snack in our home and I make a batch or two every weekend.

Enjoy!
