RECIPE: Rec: Shortcut Sesame Noodles

RECIPE:
I guess I do use toasted sesame oil and my recipe does use a quarter cup

of it! This was how the recipe was passed down to me and I liked the flavor, so I never thought to tweak the sesame oil amount. I guess I will now have to experiment with less and see if I like it. Not only do I learn new recipes on this site, but posters make me reconsider recipe staples.

Mistral, apart from the reduced sesame oil are there any other

variations in your recipe for sesame noodles that you would be willing to share? I would like to experiment a little ...

Please never stop posting Mia!!! I learn so much via the efforts of the people on this site...

Even responding to someone's question I find I learn a lot. Through my response to you, for instance, I found that wonderful site on Asian foods. (Love Charmaine Solomon for putting the mystery of Asian cuisine into terms that the rest of us can understand and use.)

Mia, I use a lot more dark sesame oil than most. As always, it's just a matter of individual taste.

Mia - we are all here to learn and to share!! smileys/smile.gif Now, how about you sharing some......

More great Asian recipes!!! Thanks for the noodle recipe, we love any kind of lo-mein type dishes! What am I saying?! We love any kind of Asian dishes, period!

My wonderful neighbor/friend when I lived in California was Japanese-American and she taught me soo much! (love the HOT mustard powder!)

Please post often! smileys/smile.gif

My variation calls for : (not a rec, just discussion of ballpark recipe) . . .

Soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, chinese black vinegar and a small amount of some sort of hot stuff like tabasco sauce, chile paste or chile flakes.

I like to add slivered cooked chicken too it. Thinly shredded cabbage is good if you can let the salad set for a while before serving.

The sesame noodles make a good base for just about whatevery you want to add to it, much like you can add just about anything to good fried rice, but the noodles are cold, not heated up.
