Received an order for 26 lbs of candy today

I use Open Office and Google Docs...

Here is the link for Open Office. It has comparable programs like Word and Excel, and can be saved in those extensions:

For the co-op produce ordering, I use Google Docs, most because I can share them with the other people in the co-op.

You might consider opening a Gmail account for your business. You can keep track of your business email, and use the docs there for your spreadsheet. Come tax time you can share the spreadsheet online with your tax lady, without even having to make copies of anything.
The link below is to their holiday templates that I haven't even seen before. Cute for labels and address labels.

I think I downloaded the program and the extensions.

Great, Dawn! Thanks so much! I'm excited about these!

You're such a big help to everyone in so many ways! ((((Dawn))))

This helps me so much!

You are great!

You won't cross over with this order, BUT...income is income in their world.

I keep all my receipts, do all the long form math, and submit as a business. All of your recipe trials are deductible. The pain is dividing "business" supplies from "personal" supplies. Your candy boxes are deductible...as is a certain percentage of all utilities. Call the tax lady!

Fabulous news about the orders!! How exciting for you!

I'm sorry to hear that, Joe...but it is with nearly everyone, so I expected as much....

My cousin's restaurant is holding it's own mainly with private parties, etc., but I don't know any business that's not slow.

It kind of surprised me that I got the candy order, which is small, but nonetheless, candy is not a necessary item. People cut out the fluff in hard times and candy sure isn't necessary.

Guess we'll just have to ride it all out and do a lot of praying.

My daughter got her pink slip 3 weeks ago and even her boss, who has 37 yrs with the company got one.

I believe it'll get a lot worse before it gets better - but I try not to dwell on it.

*sigh

Thands, and I'm sure you got the order because your candy is delicious and an exceptional value.

They're probably thrilled to discover you. In different times, I'd say you need to raise your price but right now you should probably not mess with success!

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Maybe she'll have to help you make candy.

Gayle, thanks for the tips...Sounds like alot of fun, and looks beautiful! Will keep you posted!

I'm really not expecting that many orders, Joe.....

But it's fun to play around with. Times are too hard right now. I've made candy for friends and family for years so if that's all it is, that's good, too. A little bite of something decadent sure helps in hard times!

But as far as my daughter helping me to make candy - that would never work. Don't ask. lol

Thank you for your sweet comments. Always the gentleman you are!

Thank you for all the tips, Glennis! I would have never thought about

recipe trials. I ruined 2 batches of fudge last week - no idea why, so I'll write that down, too!

Thanks so much!
