reheating food

Well, I'm afraid it has been a long time coming.......

I know for a fact that both you and Richard are gentlemen and have only the best intentions in all ways. Having one distruptive participant can make it so uncomfortable for the rest and now, perhaps we can all just get on with enjoying each other's posts and sharing ideas. I have been aware of this problem for as long as it has existed (a LONG time) and it was bound to come to this level sooner or later. May peace and commaradarie rule from now on!

I think Richard makes many good points. Sorry Gretchen, I just don't see a reason

to take offense over a disagreement on pizza re-heating. This should be a genuine exchange of ideas without judgement; even the most experienced cooks here ask for help on a regular basis, and contrdictary suggestions are par for the course.

If people are really PM-ing each other instead of posting suggestions for all to see, to avoid setting someone off, that's really a shame.

MERCIFUL HEAVENS!...take a moment to look at world events....

and tell me this isn't blown way out of proportion! I could not find one comment in Gretchen's microwave posts to justify the rancor. If any of us finds a post that bugs us, then let's just ignore it as "gentle" people are wont to do, and MOVE ON. Not lie in wait for the next one. Growing up I was taught not to bring up people's "faults" to their faces. Maybe that was just my household. Life is way too short, world events way to scary ~ and people way too precious to hound and drive out because of personality quirks, skin color, religious affiliation, strong opinions, creepy clothes, food preferences, etc etc. So please, let's get back to cooking and eating! That's why we're here. And I'm glad ALL of us are.

Don't understand what all the fuss is about but it's been fun! And "Durward" is "Gretchen">>>>

interesting but irrelevent. Welcome back!

Gretchen, I'm new here and probably shouldn't

put my 2 cents in, but I've found your posts to be very informative. You are obviously experienced and I hope that you won't leave. I think the heat is just getting to everyone and people get short-tempered.

I thought this was a happy place!

I have enjoyed many of Gretchen's recipes but I have also been on the other end...

and been attacked and found myself attacking back. I've found myself less likely to post sometimes because of the fear of being attacked again for things that there are clearly no rights or wrongs on (yes there are a few rules when it comes to food safety but other than that - no rules!). If this can't be a place where we all have fun and are open to share without fear of attack, then that is a shame.

I think there is room here for everyone, everyone's tastes, opinions, adventures, trials & errors, stories and such. Otherwise we would be a vanilla world. That is what makes this so wonderful.
