Basically, they're the same thing just ground differently > > >

Granulated garlic and garlic powder are different textures. Garlic powder is, as suggested, a powder, and is the texture of flour. Granulated garlic is ground more coarse and is the texture of salt. It's just dried, ground up garlic. Garlic powder doesn't last very long before it starts absorbing small particles of moisture in the air and sticks together. It ends up in large clumps.

So in a nutshell, you can use them interchangeably although I'd substitute a ROUNDED tablespoon of granulated garlic with a LEVEL tablespoon of garlic powder due to density differences.

Little-Known Use: Garlic powder or granules can be added to boiling water to make an antiseptic to treat wounds. Enzymes in garlic help prevent infection. Simply add one tablespoon of granulated garlic or 2/3 tablespoon powdered garlic per cup of boiling water to dissolve; then let the solution cool. Apply to the wound with a cotton ball three times a day for one week, or until the wound has healed enough that infection is no longer a concern. Store the solution in a lidded container in the refrigerator.
