Should have been at post.above..My Most embarrassing momnet with the English/American language

I just picked up an envelope of dry soup mix. Too funny to pass up. I can't remember

the brand name, but it is Jamaican and has a rooster on the front. It is "Cock Flavoured Soup". Below that it says "Spicy". Everyone who has seen it thinks it is hilarious....

and I'm still howling over Joanie's "rubbers", and some of the other's. great thread for a great

laugh!

I learned what "jumper" meant while watching Bridget Jones movie and Mark wore the reindeer "sweater

and she called it a "jumper". Never knew that before. the Catholic girls wore plaid "jumpers"(a skirt with attached sleeveless bodice, or just a straight sleeveless shift with blouse or sweater underneath) with blouses underneath and sweaters over their shoulders.

LOLOLOL..al these anecdotes have me in hysterics...love it...Barb the following applies...

cot and crib are both what a new born sleeps in.

A cot can also be used up to two years or so as well.

A camp cot could be a stretcher (used when camping)or a small bed for a young child.

One can ask/say..."I need to go" and be told where the loo is.
...."where do I go for a short walk?" LOL, and NOT acutally be taken on a walk, for Heaven's sake! Lol!!!

...and one of my favs my Dad and his crones used to tell each other....."I need to see man about a dog"...must have been a navy thing!!!

Hey you cheeky, Lol......being randy is a guy thing, a randy broad is

something all young blokes dream of meeting. There is/was no stigma attached when talking like this although it was a teenage thing. I think that being known as a wanton female in any era is not what a well brought up young miss wants to be known as.

And often adults would say that the dog was also randy when it was doing what comes naturally.....
Oh boy, all this can get one into big mis-understandings.

LOL, I sometimes use that one here....and it gives me a giggle as we have a

rooster that makes it'self heard early every morning...guests always tell my DH his cock is too darn noisy and wakes them up too early.....LOL, it is just part of normal (not bad) chat....

Watch it, Watch it--I'm a Univ of South Carolina alum & we're all Gamecocks--better than

being a St Peters College man who are Peacocks.

Are we off the air yet...
