So, with all your helps...here is my mystery plant (I hope)

That was interesting. Not agapanthus though, as their leaves are characteristically flat while these

leaves are all tubular.

oh well, it is a very exotic mystery plant. I used to get the chinese leeks and chives

in china town in NYC, they were so pretty I would treat them like cut flowers and put them in a vase. smileys/smile.gif

I put my chive flowers in vases. Better there than in the garden spreading seeds everywhere.

they really take over my garden if I let them.

I have one little, seperate section that has chives. the arugula is going into a planter this

weekend. it's the babiana that is completely taking over the only real space I have. man, that stuff is mega prolific! I gave away about 100 bulbs last fall.

so true... like the match things to get exact paint color now...

My wish is to have a machine that I can put a bowl of soup under and it will print me out an exact recipe. *sigh*

they are in the freesia family. the ones I have are different huhes of pink ans some white. if

you want some, if anyone wants some, PM me I'd be happy to send you some. they will do well in pots and planters. heck, they seem to do great anywhere you plant them. they take sun to partial shade. they're pretty. I'm putting mine into a planter as I don't want to lose them all but they did take over the only designated garden space I have, very prolific little beauties! they're bulbs but also produce seeds.

My Sister is a Master Gardener. I asked her and she is not familiar with it but will

show her garden club members the photo to see if they can put a name on it. She thought it was a wonderful plant- and she's anxious to try to help find what it is.

Good! Its end bits are starting to wither, so I'm doing something wrong. Given my tentative

conclusion that it may be a succulent, I think I'll put it in the sun and stop watering it.

Thank you again....all.

I can send at least 2 more boxes of bulbs if anyone else is interested smileys/smile.gif

Marg, if you haven't found out what it is yet, it looks familiar to

me - I remember seeing something called "horsetail" plant a long time ago (college). Not exactly, but it had tall spikes coming up from a center, like yours does.

Does it have sections in the stem? Kinda looks like it from the photo.
