Some photos of the preparation for reception....

I love your outlook! You can only plan so much, then it is what it is. and you adjust accordingly.

Congrats on a wonderful event!

Made her Corn Pudding last night -- delicious!!

Mine didn't take the full 30 minutes, it was done in about 25 minutes, but that's probably because I was using a Le Creuset 8-inch dish that seems to conduct heat extremely well as everything I make in it seems to cook faster.

Also, I only cooked the corn initially about 4 minutes instead of the 10 called for in the recipe. The corn we're getting right now is so tender and delicious -- I didn't want to overcook it especially since it will spend more time in the oven. The corn kernels stayed nice and plump and crisp in the finished pudding. smileys/smile.gif

A keeper recipe for sure!!

Thank you.....

If I did not have a regular job it would be easier to practice for such an event and perfect each dish, but that's not the case.

I had to work under the time frame I had, doing as much as possible ahead, and taking just a couple of hours from the afternoon off to go home and get it all ready

SallyBR, you were on my mind ALL EVENING Monday as I know how geared up I become

executing a catering gig. I was royally impressed that you were also the hostess so had to have your house spic and span before guests arrived. When I cater, I can leave my kitchen absolutely totaled OUT because the party is never here.

Your little pancakes look super and normal to me, but then I was raised on "chubby" buttermilk pancakes. Smile. And that carrot and cuke combo sounds ultra interesting. Kudos to you and yours for a successful fait accompli!

Indeed....

.... having to host the reception in the site of culinary war is an added complication, but luckily I am not too messy a cook (unless we are talking cakes which no way in heavens I would make for that occasion)

I was quite nervous before the guests arrived, but relaxed once I realized the party was moving on nicely, people were talking, laughing, having a good time

A labor of love for sure! I am not a caterer but I know how much work went into

such an event. Congrats on a fabulous success!! Loved hearing about your progress and seeing the pics. Thank you.
