Wow,both wrists,I hope you have some help!Had one arm casted and was inconvenient, can't imagine both

Oh, so sorry to hear about that. Wish you a speedy recovery!

My mother broke her wrist in a fall and completely recovered when she was in her mid 80's. She found crocheting helped regain her wrist movement when she got to that stage of recovery.

so sorry Dawn, both wrists must seriously limit you. I hope you heal quickly. the bright side....

I wish I were nearby, Dawn, I'd make a nice pot of chicken soup just for you. With habaneros.

thanks everyone...

i would like to thank you individually, but it is too hard to type for long, my arm gets too tired. i basically have two casts on, from my knuckles to my elbos, but i can bend my elbows. i will have the casts on for six weeks, and i cannot drive, cook, or lift. everyday is a bad hair day, hub and son wash and style my hair. i feel like a cross between a styling head barbie doll and baby jane from whatever happened to baby jane.
i cannot dress myself, and i think hubby is enjoying that part a little too much. i can brush my teeth, feed myself sort of, and take care of my, ahem, personal hygiene issues, pardon the crudeness of that, but it is the reality of ths situation. i may try to market some of my 'inventions" eventually.
my stepdaughter has been bring us over meals, so we are set through the week. my favorite has been the broccolli salad, yum.
next week , my son's school and my food co-op are going to start bringing meals too. then i may take my mother-in-law's offer to come out for a week or two.
all in all, we are faring well, under the situation. i have great new friends and family to help out. i am very lucky.

on a sad note...
With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which
almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him
into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

sorry, i couldn't resist. pain meds,mmmmmmmm!
