Suggestions on how to cut brownies so the edges are nice and neat? Thanks.

Big, honkin' long knife, turn brownies out of pan, UPSIDE down onto board. . .

trim cooked edges using straight down quick knife cuts (DO NOT saw), flip the brownie square you have now and cut from the top using straight down quick knife cuts.

If the tops of the brownies get a little "used" looking by the upside-down cutting, slap a little glaze or frosting of some sort on there and they will be gorgeous.

I made the Outrageous Brownies too! I used a big heart cutter and got 15 hearts smileys/smile.gif

I chilled the pan in the fridge for about an hour, then cut them out.

I usually chill overnight, for the cleanest cut, but didn't have time for it this time. Some of the edges got a little squishy, but not too bad. I dipped the cutter into powdered sugar, to help it along.

They were kinda big (almost 4" across), but no one seemed to protest that it was too much smileys/smile.gif

How funny is that? We must have been typing at the same time, yours wasn't there when I read hers

Yeah, no nuts, and no extra chocolate chips for hubby smileys/frown.gif

He doesn't like nuts at all, but I love them.

One of these days, when I remember, I'll pour half the batter into the pan, stir some nuts in the other half, then pour taht into the pan.

One of these days.

Until then, nutless brownies from Sandi's kitchen...
