Sweet Potato and Caramelized Onion Soup with Bacon

So how was it, Susan? my mouth was watering reading the recipe,

I've never seen anything like it before! a whole teaspoon of cayenne though - whoooohie! I bet the creme fraiche cools it off nicely though.

 
It was really good! And major plus the house still smells great!

Nothing better than the smell of bacon and onions!
And I just noticed it called for cayenne sauce, I used cayenne pepper. Wasn't too spicy at all, and I didn't have any creme fraiche, but didn't miss it.
Jim had two full bowls and was a happy camper.
It's a keeper!

 
don't laugh, but I intend on making this with the moose "bacon" that was bestowed upon me. they

swear it is good. I'll be serving it to the ones who gave me the bacon, so we'll see. I hope I don't ruin the soup. I think I'll need some extra oil to saute the veggies though.
