We are having quite the snowstorm here in the DC area. So far we have over 10" and it is still snowing!! This is good and bad. But, it is wonderful to have the weekend off and be snowed in baking cookies and making bowls of soup. It's 11:30AM here and I still have on my jammies, three batches of cookies done and three more in the fridge ready to go! The bad side is that we don't get this kind of snow here very often and people don't deal well and it is the Sat before Christmas and I can't get the rest of my shopping done:(

Anyway, one of the batches I made were these wonderful Cranberry Cookies. I followed your lead and used the KA flavoring and some orange zest. I used walnuts instead of almonds and threw in a 1/2 bag of white chocolate chunks. YUM! These are FABULOUS, I need to make another batch. Thank you so much for posting!

Thank you Marsha for the head's up on this post! And thank you Barbara!

I think someone else originally posted the recipe and I tweaked it. Sorry, can't remember who posted it! Thanks for the review and reminder! I might just make these myself, using WheyLow sweetener. (It's awesome www.wheylow.com) I have not made one batch of candy or cookies this year! Seems so weird! But I was thinking today that I might do one batch but didn't know which one. Perfect timing for your post!

I hear you on the snow! It's 28* here now but we just had a light dusting! They're calling for our big one on Wed, just in time for Christmas. (Like you - both good, and bac!smileys/smile.gif Traveling is bad for Christmas when it's deep!

I've been off in LaLa Land for awhile, pop in to check the forum briefly and go. I miss everyone!! Hope to be back soon! I've so busy with family stuff! smileys/smile.gif

Merry Christmas to you, Barbara!

I just can't believe you didn't make all those batches of fudge/candy/cookies. You must have been

going through withdrawal. I know you are trying to be good with your food choices. good for you. but this candy making was so much a part of your holiday tradition. I hope it wasn't too difficult for you.

Barbara, my boss and our director are stuck in the DC area and can't get a flight out. they

flew there last Thursday for a quarterly meeting and big xmas party. the party was cancelled and they are just trying to get back to Alaska.

Hi Ang! Actually, it was very freeing!!! Though, I think I'll make

one large batch of caramel for my daughter and son-in-law.

Yippeeee!! smileys/smile.gif Thanks and Merry Christmas!
