The Great Pastrami Experiment- sorry it is a long story

Nope. That's the stuff I had to order online. And since this is an agro area, every single

canning jar is GONE from every single store because so many people started gardens due to the virus. You can't even find canning salt let alone curing salt.

Marilyn, I will send you some

I ordered a package of it a month or so ago and it is more t han I will use in my lifetime.

Email me your mailing address and I will send it out, posthaste.

Oh believe me, I know about the jars--jelly jars. I have found more recently. And of course,

you provided the yeast for me when it was gone!!
Sometimes places like Dick's Sporting Goods carries it. Walmart, etc.
I have used kosher salt or non-iodized table salt for pickling.

judy, thanks so much but I solved the problem by taking all the glass jars out of my pantry

and replacing the contents in Ziplock plastic jars with a screw top (dry beans, rices and the 7 different kinds of sugar). That pull-out pantry drawer is lighter now plus I recouped 2 dozen glass jars.

I also have a dozen more in the freezer with various nuts so I'm going to replace those as well.

What a wonderful story! I was nervous cooking a brisket my 1st time (just 5 yrs ago!). Your

brisket looks picture-perfect.
