This is why I love summer!

Nice pictures, Traca - especially the rainbow chard. I love the handmade

signs! And you really have a knack with the camera.

Anyone else have some summer pictures to share? I'd love to see more!

what a beautiful market. I almost bought squash blossoms last sat. but I wasn't sure what to

stuff them with and didn't have time research. if I find some recipes by sat morn, I'll try some this weekend smileys/smile.gif

the beautiful colors and abundance of summer! thanks for starting something special Dawn smileys/smile.gif

Randi, I got some last year at the Farmer's Market. She told me to dip them in a light batter

then fry them fast in small amount of oil. Delish. The batter was the kind they use in sushi restaurants when they deep fry your veggies. It is barely there, and the veggies get a little crisp. Same thing with the blossoms.

I love summer too!

And not only have I found my produce purveyor*, I found an organic beef, lamb, and swine farmer that I am now buying my meat from. All organic, pasture grass fed, no hormones, no antibiotics. The tastes are out of this world. I'm talking to people at work and people are going to the organic grass fed beef farmer and buying their meat. Spread the word and support you local farmers. All of us are so much better off.

*I have a subscription to an organic produce farm.

Did I mention that I'm buying this for $2.19/lb.? That's less than hamburger at the store for all the filets, tenderloins, briskets, etc. You can't do better that supporting your local farmers.

Here's a batter I posted last month that I've used to fry zucchini bloosoms....

It's a lot like the tempura batter, Karen, especially if you thin it out with a touch more beer.

when I was at the mkt, one woman said she battered and fried, another stuffed them with sausage and

yet another with some kind of goat cheese mixture. I'll try the batter method if they have more tomorrow. do you squeeze lemon juice on them? just plain and salted?

still waiting for Joe to finish his morning coffee and post the recipe smileys/smile.gif

I did the same : ) Surely he has some pics of his hounds romping in the garden??

I'm hoping to load some pics of my other cat in the garden to share.
