This looks fun: " 100 things every good omnivore should have tried at least once in their lifetime."

I have to say they have left out some things that would definitely be in my must-tastes

How can you leave out beef tongue? And halvah? or Chateau Yquem (or really, any Sauterne)? Not to mention Limoncello.

Lana - halvah for sure! Plus korma, corned beef hash, watermelon pickles, fried pies,

lemon curd
edamame
buttermilk pie
Junior Mints
sweet potato biscuits
southern skillet cornbread (not that sweet stuff!) with buttermilk
rice krispy bars
grilled cheese sandwich
northwest sugar cured salmon

ok, now I'm making myself hungry.. lunch time!

Okay, now you're talkin! There's plenty I haven't tried on that list. What the heck is

korma? And watermelon pickles. Really? I still haven't tried buttermilk pie or sweet potato biscuits. I'm woefully deprived on the southern food front!

LOL. when we have a moose/car accident, there is a list of charities that get called to come out

and butcher the poor beast, right there off the highway. just a way of life here in Alaska. I had Mooseburgers at a BBQ on Sunday, but it wasn't roadkill. Another gun-totin' female friend supplied the burgers.

WOW! Woefully deprived doesn't begin to describe it!!

Korma is an Indian dish with a wonderful, mellow tomato/cream/cashew mixture. You can have it with chicken or vegetarian. Watermelon pickles is definitely a southern thing. You take the outside part of the watermelon... scrape away all that red fruit part, cut it in pieces and pickle it in a sweet concoction... VERY sweet.

Yup, Steve2 posted this GREAT recipe for sweet potato biscuits... super easy and so tender! Add a little honey butter and you're set.

Ya gotta come on over... I love to cook smileys/smile.gif
