i'm bipolar. lot's of people are.

one problem is that increases the creativity greatly and therefore a lot of people refuse to take their meds.

i'm a creative person and can agree if #1 problem except for problem #2. it hurts laur (who i love more than life). it hurts my family. it hurts my friends (and this place has taught that i have many friends). you guys might think i have lot's of "real world" friends, but you're wrong. i also have social anxiety. it goes. i think that most of you se a point here.

i am currentlly manic.

(no surprise here, Rick)

i'm seeking help.

and this is where you guys come in.

i can't imagining a a better support group

i love all of you.

Oh, my goodness, rvb. My whole family is bipolar. My brother suffered for years

with it without realizing what he had.

So glad to hear things are looking up again, Rick! ...

You're right...this group adores and supports you. We're not letting go of you for something like this...hang in there!

And...well...er...blush...SMOOTCHIE!!! (It's late...don't think anybody saw that, do you?)

((((Rick))))

I don't have any experience with bipolar disease but I do have experience with choosing not to take meds that I desperately need. It never works. Take your meds.)

*smoochies*

Don't know if you remember me

But I remember you from the old boards. Many times you were and are there to help others, and we are here for you.

8. My sister

is bipolar and she is the best sister a girl could want, a great friend, and a real smart cookie. This is a disease, and not your fault. I think your postings are great, so keep on keeping on!!!!

sweet mimi:

i'm not doing the choosing.
the choice,is made by my:
gp
neurologist
cardiologist
medicating shrink
occasionaly my ent
and only rarely my srerpa guide or my serpae tetras.

i'm being monitered almost daily by a "foot"load of docs such as is only to be found only in a major city.(more importantly) has a wife with sufficient insurance (duhhh! she's director of business operations for AARP For you kids,(i'm allowed to call you kids since i'm old enough to be father or {God forbid} grandfather to many of you)

PLUS i have my own personal hawk. a FIERCE hawk and a dog that's almost as fierce and only somewhat as lethal as laur.

(don't tell laur, but i'm beginning to pee with a silencer.)

Thanks for setting me straight! Sorry for misunderstanding.

I'll pray that these people continue to make the right decisions.

rvb: I remember when you were waiting for your test results and I was praying that they would come

out negative, and I thought about you alot. Once I was thinking how odd it was that I wouldn't know you or the others if I were to bump into you on the street, but I consider all of you friends because we all have such a good time here and enjoy each other. August was a very difficult month for me, I won't go into detail, but sometimes I would just find myself wanting to get into the Finer Kitchens forum just to get away from reality. There were times when you made me laugh, (once my husband heard me in the other room and said "what are you laughing at?") It was something you wrote that was so funny. I can't thank you and everyone else here enough for helping me through a difficult period. I think the people here are loving, patient and understanding, something we don't always get when we're outside. So, I appreciate you and I appreciate the good people here.

My ignorance is probably showing here, but doesn't ...

...'bipolar' mean you're frosty at both ends, but really warm in the middle?

Hang in there, stud, we're all on your side.

Michael

Rick, I have several family members who have BPD -

It is difficult but manageable, especially with the support system you have.

I completely understand about the creativity side of it - and taking meds.

I'm sure you already know this, but it is important to make sure you are getting adequate sleep in the manic phase - short of taking other meds, sleep is extremely important.

My best friend is also. I have watched her ups & downs, struggles with her medications and the

strain it puts on her family/friends. BUT she is the best person I have ever know. Smart, big hearted and yes creative! We are all aware of her condition and as with any disorder, want to help her out on her bad days. Not think bad of her in any way, if she isn't friendly or yells or talks non stop. I am sure your friends & family feel the same way. Just concerned for your well being.
If you need to talk, we are here....
