time to come out of the closet.

Stay conected

My best friend was bi-polar, manic-depressive, obsessive compulsive, and psychotic. I miss her almost every day. I miss our closeness, her creativity and fun. I hate the doubt and the fear. I really hate that I don’t have her any more in my life. I feel cheated out of having the best friend I ever had.

Fight, fight hard for every moment.

you must need more smooches! if i knew how, i'd send you bright colorful xo's like you do to us!

have you ever read 'oh the places you'll go' by dr. seuss? have a look at it, it's like a hug in a book. it kinda reminds me that peaks and valleys are all part of the trail. so chin up! you've got loads of caring folks rooting for ya here smileys/smile.gif

I admire your honesty and boldness. It is very hard to "come out of the closet" People

who don't even know you ,or will never meet you, yet care about you. this is a great group of friends here. I know that BPD is a very painful (emotionally) disease. One of the most common problems it that, like you, sufferers don't like to take their meds. Especially when your are feeling great. Of course that causes the crash all over again.
Praise God you have a loving and supportive wife and trusty pup at your side. You have many friends here praying for you, and want to hear when your having a day. You are on my prayer list and will stay there. Hang in there and know your friend here care. Smooches and big fat hugs
Sealed with a prayer and a smooch ( SWAPAS )

rvb, my wonderful doctor once said to me that >>>

every person have a diagnosis! smileys/smile.gif

I have a bad back that can get me in a wheel chair anytime if I don't keep up with my exercise. You are bipolar.

The thing is, as long as you know what the problem is, you can do something to make it better (((((HUG))))

Many people are bipolar. It's something you didn't ask to get, know what I mean?

I admire you for sharing it with us, and I want you to know that I'm on your side too.
I love you and so does your other friends here, Rick smileys/smile.gif

I'm not surprised smileys/smile.gif

My daughter is bipolar also. The ups and downs can be drastic. It makes it hard to have friendships, and can weed out those who are not true friends. Yes, it also goes hand in hand with creativity so you are probably at genius-level in some areas... no surprise to you, I'm sure smileys/smile.gif

Glad you have chosen not to hide it - it takes all the support you can get from anyone who can give it. You've been part of this board since EVEN before me - gads!! - so you know there is support here.

I'll see if the daughter is up for that full contact competitive chess... my money's on her to win, though.

Hi Rick - big hugs to you, and cheers to you for reaching out to your support network...

we are lucky to have you as a friend and so many people are here for you!

This also runs in my family and my sister has BPS. Someone here made a very good point, this is a disease, and mental illnesses are nothing to be ashamed of, despite many people's attitudes you may encounter along the road.

Also my best friend is BPS too, I tease her about her compusive vaccuming and say she needs to come over when she's on the up side!

Humor can help you go a long way, and you have ooodles of it. Keeping your perspective is important, and knowing you have friends here for you any time should be a part of that..
