Too good news not to share...about diabetes...eat greens every day...A gal in a recipe group started

I am so sorry, Traca....

If you ever feel like finding him to check up on how he's doing you can easily find anyone online. Might be more painful than not knowing but you can find a lost friend so easily these days. (it took me 2 weeks in 2000 to find my classmates for a class reunion and I am sure the searches are a lot better now than then)

(((hugs, girlie)))

Her message actually states she changed to a vegan diet, which is much more of a lifestyle change

than adding more greens to the diet. Greens are great, and embarking on a vegan lifestyle would definitely make a dramatic change in one's health, even more so if the eating plan it replaced was not balanced.

I love reading stories of folks who can change their life and health through food and exercise. They inspire me to do better.

Marsha...Gayle...thanks for your kind words. I think the whole experience makes

me more appreciative. It's made much much more sensitive to health issues and their wide-reaching affects. And don't even get me started on the insurance industry...Ugh.

ideally, for a balanced meal, divide your plate up...1/2 should be veg, 1/4 carb and

1/4 protein, with a dairy serving and a fruit alongside. it's a great guideline to ensure you're getting enough veg, whether you are type 2 diabetic or not.
cutting carbs drastically is an efficient way to lose weight quickly, which would certainly improve one's blood sugars, but isn't very practical, or healthy, for the long term.
