We have a wonderful animal shelter in my area that is basically running on funds from bake sales, and spaghetti dinners. There is a contest to vote for your favorite animal shelter with the winner receiving $10000. Don't think it's possible but, because I know how many of you are animal lovers, I'm asking you take a minute and please cast your vote for the Ayres Animal Shelter in Montgomery County, NY.

I know this is probably an inappropriate post but they are really desparate for money.

Thanks, guys.

I just voted. All of the animals that I have adopted have been from the shelter here in MO...

or my latest was from a rescue.
My stepdaughter worked for the shelter for two years, and her stories of all of the animals that were put down, well, I have to adopt from the shelter or a rescue from now on. She put down so many cats and dogs. It was horrible. They do their best, but if no one is adopting, they run out of room. It is so sad. In the past I have bought purebred pugs, standard poodles, golden retrievers, all breeds that I love, but I won't be doing it again. Take a visit to your shelter or Humane Society next time before you buy a purebred. You will find a pup, dog, kitten, or cat that you will love, and needs a home.
