Totally non-food related chat (TNFRC): We no longer have teenagers. The youngest turns 20 today.

I love how you have integrated food into your foundation as a family. My children, a lil younger

than yours, can't fold clothes, but they can make a mean omelet, laarb, speak confidently on different cooking techniques, etc.... Did I mention that they can't do laundry? Or put away their clothes? Oh well.... All in good time.

Job well done. I am assuming you had some great 1:1 time with your son while he is on spring break from NJ???....

Hope he is enjoying his experience here.

Best,
Barb
P.S.... Edited to say, that I can't believe it has been 20+ years w/ Gails / eat.at.

Yeah, he came back to Phoenix for a week in mid-March. He worked us in...

...between girlfriend and more girlfriend.

They are a great couple, and they're managing the long-distance relationship thing really well. I think it is easier in the Smart Phone era.

He loves Princeton, even though it is a TON of work. He has a pretty intense major, so he doesn't have a lot of time off. He told us when he was here that his goal is to "never take Princeton for granted" and to "always remember how special this opportunity is, and how this time of my life is so blessed".

Love that boy.

We were very purposeful as far as the family identity was concerned. Our goal...

...was to clearly and concisely present to our boys what our family believes in, what we stand for, and what we do not support. When someone hears our name spoken, what do they think of, and what comes immediately to their mind? That was the question we always asked them as they were growing up.

And folding and putting away laundry was a big part of that! Ha!

Started them off by plopping them down into the middle of the pile of clean laundry on our bed and letting them have fun rolling around in it. (That works when they are 2, not when they are 12, mind you!). Then, we had them start by folding the simple stuff, like wash cloths. Then, as they grew, it was onward and upward!

Great advise and ideas.... Will try your approach. Glad he is enjoying his P experience.

dh and I were high school sweet hearts, different colleges, for BS and MBA. Long distance romances can work! Celebrated 26 years last week!
I decided to keep him. : )
