Trader Joe's List

I had a great haul from TJ's yesterday. I managed to get many of the items mentioned here. I can't tell you how excited I was running around that store. I'm sure some rightly thought me a country bumpkin at a big city store. I definitely got the truffled potato chips, the Pound + chocolate, butter, Brioche bread and buns, yogurt, olives, raw almond butter, the spices mentioned, fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables, wines, the grapefruit Prosecco, dressings and sauces. I was in heaven. Thanks to all. Another trip in a month to six weeks and plenty of time to make a list.

Here're my additions and FYI, I am in the greater Los Angeles metro center in CA:
--Tub of Dark Chocolate covered Caramels (These are some of the best I have ever had)
--New Zealand Grass Fed Butter -- delish!
--Organic Heavy Cream, pints--stuff is sooo thick and it makes great home-made butter
I agree on the Giant Candy bars. If you like almonds, I can heartily recommend the Milk Choc. Bar with Almonds. I like the super dark giant bar for cooking, makes great brownies.
--For a decent cup of relatively inexpensive coffee, try the Cup Of Joe beans, a full pound at a good price. We like it.
--Dried fruits: Golden Raisins are great, so are the regular raisins (In standard or organic), dried apricots, *Dried Mandarins* are really good and different. Everything I have tried I have liked.
--Nuts, nut butters: nuts have all been fresh and very good and if you want a real treat try the cashew butter with some good jam or apple butter, fantastic.
TJ's pastas are great. We love the basic spaghetti in the blue and white and clear bag.

Ooh, ooh, if you can find their hot fudge topping, well, buy some. Ours never made it on top of anything except a spoon and our tongues. Spoon fudge is more like it.

One last item: out here we can buy a cereal .alled Barbara's Oat Crunch. VERY tasty, I don't need any sugar with it (though ymmv), and it gives a full serving of the necessary amount of soluble fiber recommended for heart health. And it doesn't get soggy very fast!

My favorites, besides ones already mentioned, are holiday items: ready to warm up in the microwave fondue, chicken liver mousse pate with cognac aspic, baguettes and cheap champagne. My New Year’s Eve in a bag!

Earnie,
Soon, when things are a little better, we need to get together when you make your trek to Nashville. Are you going to the one in Green Hills or the newer one on Charlotte in West Nashville? They are opening a new one in Franklin/Cool Springs south area and pushing to have it open by mid-summer.

I recently went to the one on White Bridge, but before that, was only at the Green Hills one. It would be great to meet up when things open up more. I will watch for the new store in Franklin. That would save me some miles.

Marilyn, when you said you did not like their brand of Feta...are you speaking about the Israeli Feta in the bright and yellow packaging? I used that brand for years, it was so creamy and I love the taste. They no longer carry it due to political reasons I heard. Very sad for me.

@karennoca @marilynfl The feta I bought at Trader Joe's in Nashville recently is marked Authentic Greek Feta in brine and is a bright blue top. It is very good. Probably the same one you got.

Pastures of Eden is the brand of Israeli feta in the yellow/green cello wrap. I have found it in Wegmans. The TJ "Israeli feta" in the blue tub just isn't the same. It was just ok, not nearly as creamy as the Pastures of Eden. Hopefully you have a Wegmans near you. I recently tried Bulgarian feta sold in a local grocery store--it's the closest to the Israeli that I've tried.
