Traditional Waffle Iron recommendations requested

Dh is the waffle king in the house. However he is using the waffle iron his PARENTS got when they got married. The cord is starting to look a little hazardous, and the temp control seems to be failing. Sooo I wanted to get him a new one.

however, we prefer the traditional SQUARE ones vs the belgium style.

Any ones you have that you like / hate?

TIA for any help you can offer! And after looking at all the great recipes posted here, I can't wait to try a few!!!

Melissa, in the mean time....check out Habitat for Humanity or other thrifts shops

I found a barely used electric old-fashioned square waffle iron. The book was inside and everything. Cost $8.

At least you can keep making them until you find the perfect one.

I like HFH because their small electrical appliances are always checked out first before they put them out for sale.
