Two desserts tried for Thanksgiving - Choc Bread Pudding and Hot Toddy Apple Pie

We went to DD for Thanksgiving (she and new husband have bought a house) and I made these for dessert.

My other SIL wants the bread pudding for his birthday. It was very chocolatey, but not too sweet, which we all liked.

The apple pie was very time-consuming to make (and expensive), but turned out delicious. I used brandy, not whisky, because I don't like whisky. Both are definitely keepers.

I'm agog at the Hot Toddy Pie concept. Poaching the apples is brilliant...but you're right, Lana...that reads like an expensive and time-driven dessert. And very boozy!

I'm drooling reading your 2 dessert recipes, Lana. I love bread pudding, but have never tried making a chocolate version. And that apple pie sounds like heaven--I agree wholehearedly about your swapping out the whiskey for brandy in that pie. I'm not a whiskey fan either. Thanks so much for sharing!
