Update on kitchen equipment tally...

I draw the line at electrical appliances...

As we travel around countries with different electrical currents, I keep only 3 major ones and a big ass transformer:

Magimix food processor - UK
Kitcheaid huge mixer - US
Vitamix - US

other small stuff, I just buy only if I can't do it with anything else and then, super cheap so I don't feel so bad leaving it behind

for example, I have a stovetop toaster that doesn't care if it lives in 110 or 220 lands - it's the same one my grandmother used to use a million years ago, but it works!

Erin, after lunch the other day I got inspired

And unpacked the rest of the kitchen boxes, you should have come back upstairs!!

Oh I have catering stuff also....

I forgot to add that to the list...

100 shot glasses
100 oriental spoons
100 little bowls
100 little glass dishes
assorted trays - many, many
stacks of assorted foil containers
a huge, and I mean huge, roll of caterwrap
20 or so foil cake bases

and the list goes on....

And speaking of donating stuff... how difficult do they make it?!

Libraries don't want books
Churches don't want books
NOBODY wants books

Charity shops don't really want clothing unless it's almost brand new
Churches don't really want clothes either

Habitat for Humanity did not return any of my calls or emails when we wanted to donate left over building materials, and there was a lot of wood, sheetrock, tiles, etc...

NOBODY wants furniture

And to recycle old electronic stuff that is either the wrong current or broken, they wanted to charge me $100...

I did manage to donate a huge amount of linens to Animal Care and Control

What is up with this?!?!

Shelving envy!

Yes, things would be so much better if I had 8 Metro shelves! You are so lucky! smileys/smile.gif Colleen

I used one of those. It works if you use a lot of butter.

It held one stick of butter, and you would have to use it within a week, any longer and it would get rancid. since it was just me buttering my toast, I could never use it fast enough, so I gave up.

You don't really need it smileys/smile.gif

Too late...

I did have cookbooks, about 25-30 of them, NOBODY wanted them, I tried several cooking schools, caterers, etc - but they were either too old, or in a different language (french and spanish) or too weird -

I ended up putting them in a clothing donation bin, hopefully they can figure something out - in all fairness, it did not say "no books"

Thanks anyway
